CPP & Secondary Player Development

Club Wide Player Pass, Secondary Rosters and Guest Players

BASC has adopted the following policies for Club Wide Player Passes (CPP), Secondary Roster Players and Guest Players. These programs have been developed to allow for player development by permitting a player to participate with another team exposing them to a higher level of play. These programs are not intended to improve team performance or to simply have substitute players; applications for such reasons alone will be denied. The tabs to the left, detail each program.

The Clubwide Player Pass (CPP) system allows for more realistic and fluid movement of players between teams and levels of play. This allows the player to be challenged based on their current level of development. This movement can help reduce the ‘win at all cost’ team first attitude and put the focus of player development back on the individual player. CPP should never be used to improve a team’s standing in league play and should not typically be used to make sure a team has enough players for a game.

The Maximum numbers of CPP players that can be added to a primary roster for any age group are below:

U9-U10:  2 CPP Players
U11-U12:  2 CPP Players
U13-U14:  3 CPP Players
U15-U19:  4 CPP Players

CPP is for regular league play only – not for tournament play (see Guest Players) and is used for an individual match only. Players cannot miss their primary team’s game in order to CPP for another team. CPP is available for all U8 and older players and U9 and older teams. U8 players may CPP to a U9 teams, but not to another U8 team. All players must have a Player Pass issued by the club.

BASC CPP Policy

CPP Request Form

Please carefully review the policy before considering adding a CPP player to your roster. CPP player requests have multiple approval levels in addition to the administrative side of this process. CPP applications submitted prior to the beginning of the spring or fall season will be added after official rosters are finalized and frozen to team accounts.

CPP applications must be sent electronically to the BASC Registrar no later than Wednesday at noon (12 PM) in order for the approval process and changes to the official roster and player passes to be in effect for the following weekends game. CPP applications which are sent after Wednesday at noon (12 PM) will be processed the following week.

All applications must be submitted electronically by the parent or guardian via the form above. Coaches should follow up with the Registrar to ensure the application is received and processed.

As part of OSA’s effort to facilitate player development, Secondary Players allow the specified player to be rostered on a second team from the same club. The addition of a secondary player to team’s roster is good through the completion of the season for which it is applied. This allows a player to continue to play for their primary team while gaining more playing time and experience as a secondary player for a higher level team.

The Maximum numbers of Secondary Players that can be added to a primary roster for any age group are below:

U9-U10:  2 Secondary Players
U11-U12:  2 Secondary Players
U13-U14:  3 Secondary Players
U15-U19:  4 Secondary Players

Secondary Rosters are for regular league play only – not for tournament play (see Guest Players) and is for the season. Once a player is listed as a Secondary Player they cannot be removed until the end of the season unless they are also removed from their primary team. Players cannot miss their primary team’s game in order to play as a Secondary Roster player for another team. The ability to be a Secondary Player is available for all U8 and older players and U9 and older teams. U8 players may Secondary to a U9 team, but not to another U8 team. All players must have a Player Pass issued by the club.

For use in tournament events, OSA’s Guest Player option allows for a player to play for another team from the same or different club during a tournament event.  Guest players are limited according to event rules and an on-line form must be completed and confirmation from OSA printed to be presented at team check-in. Guest players may not participate in state tournaments (ie. Governor’s/President’s Cup).
